“My appointment is to the Dog Soldiers and it’s a life time term or whenever I wish to let it down and my son will sit in the position after I’m gone. I can never be a Chief because our family, Tall Bull, has always been with the Dog Soldiers,” explains Linwood Tall Bull.
A descendant of Little Bighorn Battle veteran, Jacob Tall Bull, Linwood is a Headman of the Dog Soldiers Military Society. A co-author of We, The Northern Cheyenne People, Linwood is a renowned ethnobotanist and Northern Cheyenne historian and cultural consultant, having worked with Chief Dull Knife College and the tribal administration. He serves as Northern Cheyenne Elderly Director and is a spokesman for GOAL.
